Now, lets be realistic, unless you're Wikipedia (which you're not), you're not going to get top listings for every single possible search. That's why we focus. How do we get a good ranking?
There are many things that we can do to help search engines index your pages better. Remember, search engines are just computers. They send their computer "robots" out to scour the web and determine how important a page is for a particular keyword. By putting things in the right order and place, we can tell the search engines, "Hey, this is a good site to find information about ____!"

Content is KING.
Yeah the phrase has been beaten into the ground, but it's true. If a search engine only sees you have a few pages, it's not going to think your site is very informative. Plus think of it like this: The more pages Google has indexed, the better possibility that one of those pages is going to get a high ranking. You might have one page that has a good ranking in one keyword and another page that ranks well with a slightly different keyword. Bottom line, the more content the better.

What about Flash, splash pages or blackhat techniques?
Flash is bad. Well, not completely bad. But Flash websites are bad, in an SEO sense. A completely Flash website is not going to be ranked at all in the search engines. There's no content for the search engine to index, because they don't read Flash. For that reason, AWR Solutions does not make Flash websites. Flash can be useful for certain things, such as an image rotator or somewhere where it's used as a static image replacement.

Splash pages are old news. Really! There are just too many arguments against them. The are bad for SEO (not as bad as Flash, but bad still), they break the user experience, they require an extra "click" just to enter the site, etc etc etc. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of splash pages.

There are some tricks that some companies use to get you a really quick boost in the search engines. Sometimes they do things that have been labeled "blackhat". AWR Solutions wont use any blackhat techniques, because they might work initially, but they will eventually get you banned from the search engines. And we don't want you to be banned!

Wait, I can pay people to look at my website?
Yes you sure can and thousands of people do. Take a look at the Google search results. All those ads along the right side are paid for. Everytime you click one, that company pays a fee for the click. Depending on the keyword, it might be anywhere from 5 cents up to a dollar or even more.

A brand new site just isn't going to be ranked well in the search engines. It's going to take some time to get listed and show up. Even after it does, some times you might want to really focus on getting all the customers you can for a certain keyword. That's where the paid ads come in. You can buy yourself into a front page listing. There are a few other networks besides Google that are worth looking at too and while the price can add up, it might be worth it to do some pay per click advertising.
